DAY 1 Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
In the morning depart from your Hotel/Lodge in Arusha with packed lunch and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for game drive. The most famous spectacle in the park is the tree–climbing lions, which are occasionally seen relaxing on the branches of acacia trees. Other animals found in this area include elephants, leopards, impalas, hippos, and millions of birds especially pelicans and flamingos. The scenery of this park with its Alkaline Lake including its five vegetation zones is compared to a scenic gem with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. The park also has the Tanzania’s highest population of elephants per square kilometer. In the afternoon enjoy your first-bush picnic lunch. Continue with game viewing. In the evening leave the park and drive to your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight in Manyara.
DAY 2 Manyara – Serengeti National Park
Early morning breakfast then collect your lunch boxes and start a 205 kms drive, to the Great Serengeti National Park. Drive through the Ngorongoro rainy forest then continue up to the Ngorongoro/Serengeti plains. There you start game viewing all the way en-route before Seronera area. Depending on the Serengeti’s animals migration season here you will begin to witness the migration. In the afternoon stop-over for picnic lunch. The park contains an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in the seasonal migration that is one of wonders of nature. Drive to Seronera arriving to your Lodge or Campsite located in the heart of Serengeti for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3 Serengeti – Olduvai – Ngorongoro Conservation
After breakfast leave the lodge at 8:00hrs with picnic lunch. On this day, as you continue to Olduvai Gorge, start to explore the Serengeti vast animal-rich plains where you can see all the big five which are the elephants, lions, leopards, giraffe, buffalo including cheetah and more. Serengeti National Park has about 35 species of plains animals from the hare to the elephant and a wonderful selection of bird life. Drive to Olduvai Gorge to get a briefing about the discovering of the Nut-Cracker-Man “Zinanthropus”. The human fossil has been estimated to be 1.75m years old. Here you can have your picnic lunch at the picnic site. Thereafter leave Olduvai Gorge and proceed to Ngorongoro – arriving on time for dinner and overnight at the Lodge or Campsite.
DAY 4 Crater Tour –Arusha
After breakfast descent 610m/2000ft down into the Crater. Full morning Crater tour where you will see the plain animals including the Africa’s black-maned lions, elephants, buffaloes wildebeest and hartebeest. In the afternoon enjoy your picnic lunch at the site. Drive around the Soda Lake to watch the flamingoes and other fish birds. At 16:00hrs ascend the crater walls and return to Arusha.
